Fast and Furious 6 Movie

Just last Friday, we were fortunate enough to be among the first to watch much talked about movie, Fast and Furious 6! Though we are not car racing fanatics, we are still excited to give it a try as it was a free screening care of Nuffnang Philippines and Kettle Korn.

We arrived at Shangri-La Cineplex around 8:50PM, thinking that we are one to be the first few to be there since the registration was from 9:00 to 9:30PM. Astounded at the sight of a huge, noisy, and excited crowd, we registered and found out that there were only a handful of seats left to choose from.

We don't want to be branded as killjoys and spill details about the movie. For sure some people would want to kill us after we do, but what we can say is that the cinematography and the action scenes are superb.

We believe that the fuzz that the movie has created with the Filipino crowd is true. It's a great movie that we really enjoyed watching. Thank you, Nuffnang Philippines and Kettle Korn.

Foodscapade: Kasuga Ramen House Sgt. Esguerra

Since our schedules permit us to have Bebe Wednesday weekly, we decided to have our foodcapades during these days. Recently, we visited Kasuga Ramen House, a Japanese restaurant located at Sgt. Esguerra St., Quezon City

At first, we were hesitant to enter as we saw that there were no customers inside that time. But being foodies, we still gave it the benefit of the doubt. We ordered two dishes namely: Chicken Karaage and Chicken Teriyaki. Personally, their Chicken Teriyaki was really delicious and addicting. Their Chicken Karaage could be better with sauce though.

Apart from that, we were served complimentary glasses of their rice tea and bowls of their soup. Not being plain tea fanatics, we really didn't like the rice tea but found it so refreshing. Something new. Their clear broth soup though was really good and tasty.

Thanks Kasuga for a wonderful and tasty Wednesday meal! MBA

Everything About Barbie!

ALL THINGS BARBIE. The pink sparkling doors of Barbie's Dream House are now open at the 4th level of the Shangri-La Plaza Main Wing. This is where it all happens - little girls can shop, play, get dolled up at the beauty salon, and get their pictures taken in the photo studio.

Foodscapade: Empanada Nation Sgt. Esguerra

Lately, we've rarely ate pork in any of our meals. For some reason, it has always been one of our guilty pleasures as it is scrumptious yet sinful. When we have pork, we make sure it's lechon, crispy pata, or our all time favorite, bagnet.

A found this new place to eat which is called Empanada Nation just a few blocks away from the ABS-CBN compound. At first I thought that by the mere name of the store, they only sell empanadas. But A assured me that there were meals as well such as Pinakbet, Igado, Crispy Bagis, and their Bagnet Meal which we ordered.

Special Ilocos Empanada

We can say that it was worth its price but what we really loved was their Special Ilocos Empanada which was really filling and uber delicious!

#EmpanadaNation

8 thumbs up (hands including our feet) for Empanada Nation from both of us! As we are blogging this entry, we're actually craving for some more authentic Ilocano food. YUM! L

Kettle Korn: Poppin’ Fun All The Time!

Arnold and I simply want to spend weekends unwinding and relaxing. Since we are movie addicts, watching movies while eating a bag of freshly popped Kettle Korn is not a new scene when we we are together.

Recently, we really enjoy watching series and movies about zombies. The thrill, suspense, and hype of zombies going after you are what actually hooked us up to these kinds of plots. We have always imagined the things we would do if this was to happen here in our country. Where we would hide and how we would actually survive. But what we didn't expect one Saturday evening was that we were really in for the biggest surprise of our lives.

One cozy Saturday evening, as usual, Arnold and I just wanted to cuddle up and eat our favorite cheese Kettle Korn while watching a cheesy chick flick on cable TV this time which seemingly resembled our love story. We were giggling and laughing at how the boy who bumped into a random girl in the MRT was hit by love at first sight when suddenly an emergency news flash popped up. It read, "Evacuate to the nearest provinces and safe places immediately. Metro Manila is now under a state of calamity as a seemingly zombie pandemic is now spreading rapidly. Stay safe and stay most importantly stay alive."

It was after the news flash when someone knocked on our door. We both shrieked and were very hesitant to open the door. As usual, Arnold being so bossy and acting like one, asked me to open it. (Oh, you’ll never win against him!) Suddenly, we heard a voice 'Sir, ito na po yung Kettle Korn na pina-deliver ninyo.' We suddenly realized that we actually called for popcorn to be delivered since we ran out of it. I immediately opened the door got our most precious popcorn, handed over the money, and locked the door immediately.

A few minutes has elapsed when we got another knock on the door. It was soft and scratchy this time. Arnold this time approached the door and asked, 'Sino yan?' but didn't get an answer. I added, 'Ah baka yung delivery boy. Nakalimutan niya ibigay yung resibo'. With that Arnold opened the door and screamed at the sight of the delivery boy who was 5 minutes ago human and all smiling now a drooling zombie.

Our imaginations now are coming true and we are not even prepared. Arnold was throwing popcorn bits at the zombie delivery boy at the hopes of it being able to do something. To our amazement, every time a popcorn hits the zombie, it in a way scares the zombie off. Thanks to the poppin' fun and powers that Kettle Korn brings!

Foodscapade: World Chicken SM Mall of Asia

Be good to your heart - eat grilled!

Last week, we decided to celebrate A's birthday at The Mall of Asia due to some work commitments that A had to do there. As we were going through the list of affordable-yet-tummy-satisfying places to eat in our minds, we came across World Chicken.

First opened in 1998 at Glorietta, World Chicken is famous for their succulent and freshly flame-grilled chicken which they would smother with a sauce of your choice and the option of pairing it with one or two sidings. It is a food journey as they take you from Asia to the rest of the world with the choices they offer.

From their sauces (Farm Fresh Mushroom, Brown Gravy, Mornay Cheese, Ranch BBQ, Sweet Chili Sauce, Corn & Mushroom, Teriyaki, and Taragon) to their sidings (Spaghetti Pomodoro, Fettucine Al Tono, Pesto Cream, Asian Noodle, Mashed Potato, Bacon Rice, Japanese Rice, Plain Rice, EspaƱol Rice, Potato Salad, Macaroni Salad, Cheese Muffin, and Fried Banana), World Chicken really offers one an appetizing feast for the belly!

It was not actually our first trip to World Chicken and what we came back for is their hearty and generous servings which really satisfy our grumbling tummies! MBA
